GeForce GTX 700 SeriesģD Vision, PhysX, CUDA, GPU Boost 2.0, GeForce Experience, Adaptive VSync slightly slower Radeon R7 260X by a great margin (gaming). The power consumption as already mentioned is a strong suite for the GTX 750 Ti and it excels the e.g. In our tests, the 750 Ti was not able to achieve playable framerates in demanding games and highest settings in 1920x1080 (see benchmarks below). The 3D performance lies between the Radeon R7 260X and R7 265X from AMD or between the GTX 750 and GTX 660 from Nvidia. ![]() The GeForce GTX 750 Ti is comparable to the Nvidia Geforce GTX 860M for laptops that features the same chip with slightly slower clock rates and therefore also performance. The GTX 750 Ti supports DirectX 11.2 but only feature level 11_0. Maxwell sets its focus on energy efficiency and was able to outperform the predecessor Kepler and AMD chips in similar performance regions. It is based on the first generation of the Maxwell architecture, namely the GM107 chip. Hence why I would say it would be most prudent to wait until the end of the summer. The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti is a mid-range desktop graphics card that was announced early 2014. However, scarcity has already had 1080's selling for around $1000 USD, so you may end up waiting anyways for supply to catch up to demand. This isn't the most cost effective solution, but it will give you the best combination of price and performance. While the 970 will be good for another year or two, the 1070 will likely last three to four years if your goal is to play games at 1080p at 60 FPS. If you can't wait and want to get a GPU right away, I would still recommend spending a bit more for the 1070 rather than the 970 to insure quality gaming into the future. From your previous card and your interest in the 9 it seems like that a little extra performance isn't worth several hundred extra dollars to you, so I can't recommend the above recommendation which would cost substantially more. The 1070 should be more than enough power for at least a few years, especially if you are not intending to run at resolutions higher than 1080p. I can't recommend buying the 970 and then upgrading to the 1080ti unless you're obsessed with top of the line performance. A little bit of patience will go a long way. I wouldn't recommend upgrading to a 970 as the performance per dollar won't be very good compared to the performance per dollar of the 1070, especially once they slash the prices. This should happen by the end of the summer. Once Polaris is released, Nvidia and their board partners are likely to slash prices on the 10 again. ![]() Right now the 1070 is overpriced due to demand. I would wait a couple months for AMD to release their Polaris GPUs as well as board partner Pascal based GPUs (IE, non-founder's edition 1080's and 1070's) to be widely available.
